Santa’s Clothes- Helping Others

Each year, the Rotary Club of the High Desert coordinates a near perfect pairing.  Adult shoppers are paired with local elementary school students that lack warm clothes for the winter months.  The event is called, Santa Clothes.   While I have participated for many years, each year I, along with the many participating adult shoppers and sponsors are often moved to tears.  Shopping for a young child in order to provide them with a warm jacket, pants, socks, a hat and a small gift is a gift in itself. If you have never participated I highly encourage you to both contribute and show up to serve as a shopper.

Sponsorships are $150 per child.  Our goal each year is to sponsor 100 children.  We have always made our goal thanks to the generosity of our community.  If you are interested in participating please let me know by replying to this email.  Here are the specifics:

Date:  December 16, 2017

Place:  Super Target in Hesperia

Time:  6:15 am.  Target supports the event by allowing us to shop prior to the store opening.

Sponsoring amount: $150 (Sponsor as many as your heart desires and your wallet can support.  We are grateful for any amount).

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.
