Greeting Excelsior Families!
As the new interim principal of Highland, I am excited to begin the school year with internship opportunities, college tours, and new courses in APEX and Canvas. I firmly believe that my instructional leadership will prepare students to be successful adults. Students will grow in their academic abilities, and they will be college and career ready by graduation.
Fully credential teachers, known as facilitators, will meet once a month with families (parent/guardian and student) to review a student’s academic progress, provide personalized tutoring (if needed), and monitor the student’s Personal Life Plan (i.e. gain admission to the United States Military Academy West Point). The on-campus workshops will support the student’s independent study program and are optional to attend. We offer math 7, math 8, algebra 1, geometry, piano, guitar, ASB, and Reading Plus. The off-campus workshops are offered through the Highland Police Station and San Manuel Fire Station. In addition, students can take dual enrollment classes at San Bernardino Valley College and Crafton Hills College.
I am honored to serve as your interim principal. It is truly a privilege to be part of a community where families, facilitators, and students care for each other and strive to build positive relationships that support our school’s mission. I look forward to working with you this school year.
