The Excelsior Aviation, Medicine and Engineering Academy boasts one of the best robotics/engineering programs in the entire United States. Our teams are highly accomplished on the regional, statewide and national levels. We have two teams that have earned a 5th and 43rd national ranking. In addition to robotics, our engineering program includes Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), principles of engineering and will now include principles of flight engineering. Our engineering students are very high achieving with select students holding statewide and national board positions for SkillsUSA. We invite you to come out and observe our student lead board meetings. We are also proud to announce that Excelsior A.M.E. Academy engineering teacher, Mr. Denny Vasquez was awarded the SkillsUSA Region 6 Advisor of the Year!
In our engineering program your student will learn:
- Principles of mechanical advantages
- Principles of torque
- Computer Aided Design (CAD).
- Hands-on build and design of robots
- Presentation skills
- Proper development of their engineering and design bookIn addition to trying to make learning fun and teach appropriate social skills our main goal is to prepare your student to be immediately ready to continue their college or vocational education upon high school graduation.
